After answering today’s question, we’ll be about 1/3 of the way through 31 Days of Goal-Setting! How do you think things are going so far? Have you found these questions helpful?
We are still working on Part 2, which is all about aspects or areas of your life and how you think you’re doing. Today’s question is, How are you doing in terms of your finances and lifestyle?
I put those two phrases together in this question because they are often linked, but they don’t have to be. In fact, for me, “finances” and “lifestyle” connate very different goal areas:
- Finance goals, for me, include things like saving money in case I decide I really do want to buy a house in the next five years, earmarking a certain amount of money for “experience” items, and starting a IRA.
- Lifestyle goals, for me, include items like walking/riding my bike/taking the bus as often as possible instead of driving, reducing the amount of waste my habits produce, surrounding myself with only items that I love and living more aesthetically, etc.
As you can see, there’s some overlap, but not a ton. And I’m doing okay on both, although I have room for improvement in both areas. (Sorry – I did mention that my own public responses on these questions would be pretty short.)
